October Meeting on the 14th

Just an update, the calendar incorrectly showed the October meeting on the 7th, but the 2nd Wednesday of the month is actually the 14th.

The calendar has been corrected at the last minute, at great expense. Those responsible have been sacked.

Fun Fly – Sunday, Sept. 6

This is a quick note to invite you all to the field on Sunday September 6 at 1:30 for a fun fly event. There might even be a hamburger or two on the grill! Hope to see you there!

(The Float Fly/BBQ event originally scheduled for Monday Sept 7 has been canceled).

Here are some pictures from today’s float fly at the Norman Veteran’s Center. We had a pretty large crowd and quite a few planes flying throughout the afternoon, and the weather was great for the event.

“Resurfacing of the Runway was passed with no “Nay votes”, unanimous “yes”. Resurfacing is scheduled for Thursday July the 16Th so it will be a “no fly day”. A few of us will be there to see that are money is well spent. So if you are out next weekend, 18Th & 19Th it may be hot but so will the Runway, smooth and fast!!!!

Collective R/C Fun Fly and Open House

A new AMA chartered heli club in OKC called Collective RC is hosting an open house/fun fly/fundraiser on June 20 at their new flying field. See their website for all the details.

May 16 Float Fly Rescheduled for May 17

At the May meeting tonight, it was voted to reschedule the float fly from Saturday to Sunday, May 17 for more favorable conditions, weather permitting.

Spring is here and that means that many of us will be spending more time flying again. After a winter layoff, that also means that we need to take a little bit of time to re-familiarize ourselves with the things we must do to enjoy our hobby safely; for ourselves, for spectators and our neighbors.

New members and old members alike are invited to come out Saturday afternoon, enjoy a hotdog and brush up on CORCS rules, procedures and safety tips.

Event starts at 1:00PM at the field.
